 RECIPE FOR ITALIAN PIZZA DOUGH

 

 

Ingredients:

    • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
    • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
    • 1 1/3 cups warm water (110-115°F)
    • 3 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions:

    1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, sugar, and instant yeast.
    2. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the warm water and olive oil.
    3. Mix the wet and dry ingredients until a shaggy dough forms.
    4. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic.
    5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let rise in a warm, draft-free place for 1-2 hours, or until the dough has doubled in size.
    6. Punch down the dough and divide it into two equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball and let rest for 10-15 minutes before rolling out and topping with your favorite pizza toppings.
    7. Bake in a preheated oven at 450°F for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
