Osso buco is a traditional Italian dish

            ITALIAN RECIPE OSSABUCO

Osso buco is a traditional Italian dish made with veal shanks braised in a flavorful broth with vegetables and white wine. Here's a recipe that you can use to make a delicious osso buco:

Ingredients:

    • 4 veal shanks
    • Salt and pepper, to taste
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1/4 cup olive oil
    • 2 medium onions, chopped
    • 2 carrots, chopped
    • 2 celery stalks, chopped
    • 4 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 cup dry white wine
    • 1 cup chicken or beef broth
    • 1 can (28 ounces) whole tomatoes, crushed
    • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
    • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
    • 1 bay leaf

Instructions:

    1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
    2. Season the veal shanks with salt and pepper and dust them with flour.
    3. In a large, heavy Dutch oven or oven-safe pot, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the veal shanks and brown them on both sides, about 5 minutes per side. Remove the shanks from the pot and set them aside.
    4. Add the onions, carrots, celery, and garlic to the pot and cook until the vegetables are soft, about 10 minutes.
    5. Pour in the white wine and cook for another 2 minutes, scraping the bottom of the pot to release any browned bits.
    6. Add the broth, crushed tomatoes, thyme, rosemary, and bay leaf to the pot and stir to combine.
    7. Return the veal shanks to the pot, making sure they are partially submerged in the broth. Cover the pot with a lid and place it in the oven.
    8. Bake the osso buco for 2 1/2 to 3 hours, or until the meat is very tender and falling off the bone.
    9. Serve the osso buco hot with some of the cooking liquid spooned over the top. Enjoy!
